Mystic Gaze
A redraw I did of this screenshot from the OVA.
Was a wonderful test run of my new tablet that I got some time ago. Great device and while I did have to tinker around, I managed to pull off some incredible results with this piece. Incredible colors. I hope you enjoy this beautiful art of Mei-Ling Shao! 🥰💛

Update: 7/9/2023 (I will update the listings if they are added to the stores.)
Drawing Tablet Buyer's Guide 2023
Are you looking for help to get into digital art? Are you confused for what models would you pick? Do you want success in your art career? Then this blog is for you. These are the buyer's guide for artists who wanted to take approach on digital art. As always, you don't need a latest and greatest tools just to make good art. Your handy mouse and a trusty old tablet can do fine art at the time. My Intuos 4 L still works today, even if it was released on 2009.
Here are the basic categories you'll fit into: Beginner, Intermediate and Professional.
Beginner - This is where you start making digital art for the first time.
Intermediate - These are experienced artists who are on mid-range level at a greater value.
Professional - These are same as intermediate but who are on to take approach an high-end level to mimic the meaning art.
There are three types of pen tablets for you to decide. These have pros and cons on these tablets.
Pen Tablet - A pen tablet doesn't require a screen and can benefit for a user experience such as good posture, portability and pricing, but this requires hand-eye coordination as this type of tablet has a steep learning curve and drawing on it feels unnatural to use.
Pen Display - A pen display is a monitor that can be drawn into. It is easier to learn how to use pen displays and can mimic a sketchbook you were drawing. However, there are issues such as bad posture, expensive pricing and limited portability. Sometimes, your hand gets in the way through pinpoint cursor while drawing.
Pen Computer - These are pen tablets that can be used by themselves and don't require a computer, it can be portable for travel use. However, they are very expensive, limited to none upgradability, difficult and costly repairs and have a short battery life. As such, I do not recommend getting these pen computers for these reasons above and instead look for other mobile tablet alternatives such as iPad Pro, Surface Pro 8 or Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Here are the list of drawing tablet recommendations based on three categories.
NOTE: Prices may vary due to sale discounts so I only put links to the official store from drawing tablet brands so I'm gonna keep the original price for future references. However, Amazon is safer for returns and good units and eBay is the way to go for second hand offers.
If you're an osu! player looking for a pen tablet, I'd suggest getting an Intuos Pen and Touch Small 2013 (PTH-480) on eBay. One by Wacom Small (CTL-472) has the same performance yet cheaper. The only good alternative that doesn't suck is Gaomon S620. I recommend getting OpenTabletDriver for that purpose.
If you want to invest digital art, I highly recommend getting a medium size tablet for larger hand gestures.

FAQ
Proshippers are not welcome on my blog. End of story.
My Nezha oc
Boundries for my Nezha OC included--
just dont be fuckin' wierd.
No shipping. None at all. no
He's a child, forever. Mah boi aint growing- so respect that or its instant block.
I have my personal Nezha media interpretation/OC. I made him and he is eternally 12. That does not mean I believe Nezha the mythological god is twelve because he's not, that is a misconception
Nezha is a mythological god, and thier interpretations across different pieces of ancient lituriture, thier statues, their representations vary depending on where you are...
The adult side of Nezha is just as important as his child side and to ignore one is disrespectful to him as a whole. it is okay and valid to have Nezha as an adult in Media just like they've had him as a child.
But you cant just look at one and say that is his entire representation. That one interpretation is the only form Nezha can have within his worship.
My Nezha oc is just that, a media interpretation, so DO NOT refer to him for any completely accurate info on his mythologies. I have taken creative liberties.
so with that said because my Nezha oc is a child, please do not ship him with anyone. (he's also Aroace)
the child headcanon is cute but please remember it is a headcanon and anyone who thinks differently regarding Nezhas age is completely valid in doing so.
I would suggest referring to this user for some very good and useful Nezha info.
What programs do you use?
Clip studio-full illustrations/detailed comics/animations
procreate-doodles/low detailed comics
obs-streaming and recording
DaVinci-video editing
Whens the next part of _____ coming out?
No idea dude, life is insane so whenever i get to it
can i request___?
Nope i dont take requests if i end up writing or drawing something for an ask someone gave me its soley bc i wanted to and felt like it.
what tablet do you use?
ipad and stylus, gaomon 1311
what do you ship/ what ships are you comfy with?
No No ships that make me puke-
Mk/Mei/Redson x any of the monkeys/parental figures. just...just no.EUGH.
fave ships- i will go down with the ship for these pairings, i make content of them and enjoy content made for them
Spicynoodles
shadowpeaches
freenoodles
SIlktea
Cool ships- i dont dislike these at all, i think some of them are quite cute and plausible. i enjoy content of them but dont actively ship them/make my own content of them. Mostly bc my own hc's for the characters often negate these ships
Chimerashipping- very cute but i personally cant see red and mei in a romantic relationship. i see them as chaotic siblings
inkypages- its cute but i ship macaque with wukong and tang with pigsy
shadowvenom (is that the name for sq x macaque???)- its nice but doesnt really interest me
dragonfruit- cute, but i see them as chaotic siblings.
I also have no issue whatsoever with Oc X Canon with any of the characters as long as your not being wierd or illegal about it y'now XP.
Oc X Canon is fun. and i fully support it.
The same goes for selfshipping.

I've had my gaomon pd1560 since 2018 and my guy is still holding up well. A couple of my art college classmates also have either gaomon or huion tablets with a screen. In my experience, as long as you have a protective film on and not be completely careless with it, it will live a long life.
Unfortunately pen displays on the cheaper end usually have a problem with the colors on screen being off. I stopped coloring on my tablet because colors are always skewed a bit towards yellowish and no amount of messing in the settings could give me desirable results. Also if you usually draw on big canvases it's better to buy a tablet with QHD resolution (mine is only FHD and the way fine lines pixilate is kinda annoying and they just don't look the same on a bigger screen). Idk, maybe it's a problem with older models (or gaomon specifically)
Sometimes I wish I had one of those tablets where you drew on the screen because I think it'd speed things up a bit, but I've never bought one (despite them being affordable now) because what if I didn't like it... What if my heavy ape hands break the screen.... My trusty beat to shit, wrist-sweat polished, Turcom Huion will outlast the sun

Also, can I say that. Deciding a new drawing monitor feels SO MUCH HARDER than picking out a brand new laptop. At least for me. I’m just. Wow, I should be excited for this, but instead I’m so nervously anxious about purchasing one due to my (first) and last computer drawing monitor experience. It was THAT BAD. It gives me war flashbacks just thinking about it LMAO.
#&& Like I've had my fair share of wacom drawing pads ofc without the monitor#&& but each one only had a year life span#&& So I'm very weary of wacom's quality#&& I'm looking at the XP-Pen 24 Pro though and I really like the look of the big screen but man#&& I just#&& Need to make the final decision and just buy IT#&& I'm sure it'll be fine but man#&& don't buy a gaomon tablet it made me scared of all other tablets out there LOL

"Atom what the fuck are you talking about"
Well lemme tell you this story: basically young 14 y/o Atom decides that they wanted to be a professional while still being in a transitional period of their life and asks their parents for a screen tablet for christmas, Atom finds a tablet that is cheap enough for their family's income which is the Gaomon PD1560, christmas arrives, the tablet is here, and they use it for a bit! Everything is going well, but, to their unfortunate demise, 2020 arrives, and their tablet's driver decides to fuck up just the week after. Everything is fucky and weird and they could NOT draw in it anymore. They tried lots of solutions, including getting their dad to call support, but nothing worked, and since then it has been collecting dust for over 3 years because at this point it would be a miracle if it permanently worked again.
discovering the existence of the huion kamvas pro 12 gives me pain. I should've waited and not bought that other screen tablet 4 years ago

i just now thought that maybe i should introduce myself.
Hey! My name is Add. I’m an artist and... I draw. :D I’ve been drawing for about 7 years now and i’m still bad. But even though I suck, it makes me happy so yea. I like to make stories and characters, i’m just not that great at bringing them to life. I am getting into anime, specifically My Hero Academia (feel free to recommend). I use Krita as my program and I have a Gaomon PD 1561 tablet. I also draw traditionally if ya’ll want to see that. Idk what else to say so yep thats me.

Hello everyone, my name is Dana Willis Martinez and I'm an art student at the University of Arizona. My major is Studio Art with an emphasis on Graphic Design and Illustration. I've been drawing for 13 years and by the end of this year it'll be 14, so I've got quite a good amount of experience. I mainly draw anime and manga, but I've recently started drawing semi-realistic digital portraits. I draw both traditionally and digitally, but started as a traditional artist. I don't do traditional art much these days since I recently got the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2018 version. I also have a few graphics tablets and Gaomon PD 1560 pen display. One day I hope to have a Wacom Cintiq Pro, but for now I am happy with my Gaomon and very happy with my iPad Pro.
This art I've attached was the last traditional art piece I've done recently, as these days I tend to focus on digital art. This art is of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan vs Perfect Cell from Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball is a big part of my life and I love it with a passion. I have made Dragon Ball art for Geekdom101, the biggest Dragon Ball YouTuber online. I've also done commissions for the past few years and have been getting quite a lot this year too. I know my tools and my craft and the secrets of my trade. I'm currently trying to set up a Patreon for my followers and supporters and hope to one day become big on social media and YouTube. Speaking of which, here is my YouTube channel:
I hope to learn more about you all in this class! Thanks for reading. :) ~ Dana

For the ask meme, 6,7 and 16!
6. tag your favorite artists/inspirations!
I'M NOT GOING TO TAG THE ONES ON HERE THAT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING. BUT!
I take a lot of inspiration from the work of Don Hertzfeldt, Samantha Hensley (samsketchbook), and bubblebaath. As far as furry stuff, i have a very funny mix of inspos, i think, from things like fleecerot to hard scemo styles. I like lots of stuff!! I am also, of course, always inspired by other OSC people as far as objects- in particular, i think a lot of my inspiration might come from The Nightly Manor, but i would say a lot of films i grew up loving influenced my taste a bit there!!!! :p
Also. Old cartoon network/nick cartoons. Invader Zim, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc.... and things like Animal Jam/Neopets/Webkinz. So many tiny influences!
7. do you prefer sketching, outlining, or coloring?
hmm.. sketching, i think! The rest is just steps to complete the work to me, although i will admit i like adding color effects a lot. I've been trying to play around with my use of color more lately :o)
16. what kind of tablet do you use? v v
I believe it's a gaomon pd1560! i like her :o) a hefty beast, but a good one. the pen life lasts a pretty long time (i actually... rarely charge it at all), the display is good. I honestly only ever had crappy little bamboos for years before this, so i might be impressed by the Majesty of the Screen Tablet in general LOL. Only problem i've ever had is random syncing problems with the pen here and there, but restarting the computer generally fixes it!

Update 10/22/18
Hmm where to even begin? Well i’ll start by saying I would’ve published some art had my tablet not go and die on me a few months back. After being so busy with becoming adjusted to balancing my work hours with my life I had to go and break my toe..which meant, yaay freedom, no more UPS. So I thought. I figured well, this only sucks because money won’t be a thing, but hey I can always try to sell some art. Think again! Right in the middle of drawing, my Intuos went and completely stopped working, I mean 100% flatline this time no matter what I did. So after trying any and everything, I just accepted my fate and had a rough two or three months up until now. However, all is not lost forever. I began working again this month and soon i’ll be able to buy myself a new tablet, but i’m pretty much done with Wacom products if this new Gaomon tablet is better to me. The tablet is released next month, so I can say that I should be able to start posting art before wintersday! ( or around December for all you non-gw2 people ) Other than that, I intend to keep my promises for streaming, etc. It’s just as I said before.. things always come up.
#zelly says#I probably left out some things but I didn't want this to be super long#I'm honestly really excited for November/December because I was really bummed out I couldn't do anything for October#SOON!

I’ve been so out of it doing night shifts and preparing a presentation for work/weekend conference for next weekend. Anyway, if you have been wondering (like I have) what James Ironwood might have looked like in his younger days (before his half-terminator body), here’s my crappy head-canon! I’ve been having artist block, non-motivation/whatever you call it so this is a very quick piece. All done on Gaomon screen tablet with Sai2 and photoshop. I think I like screen tablets better than the normal tablets now...
Now if I can ever go back and finish my Dr Strange fan art at some point in my life...

I’M SO HAPPY!
finally, after much thought, especially because this decision would not serve me in the career that I am studying or in my work and is based purely on a hobby that I have had throughout my life, in addition to writing, I have got my own graphics tablet!, I am very happy to be able to advance with my drawings
It is a gaomon 1060pro and it is totally beautiful, I am very happy with how fast it arrived despite how things are in the world and in my country
I know that when I start using the graphics tablet I will not be as good as I was with traditional drawing because I must adapt to how to draw with it and how to handle photoshop, but I am very excited to start improving and developing better as a draftsperson , it has always been my dream to become an artist, something that where I come from is not very supported, but now is my time to improve
Now more than ever since I have finally received the support of my parents and the few friends to whom I have shown my drawings, I hope to become a good draftsperson and finally make the decent fan art that I have always wanted to do.
#Not a request#not fandom related#shady talks#I just wanted to share this as it is important to me and I generally don't share this kind of information with those around me#but this time I wanted to share it

You got any tips for someone who is staring out digital art?
If you don’t have a tablet and looking for one I suggest one of the GAOMON tablets it cheaper than Wacom (depending on where you are looking and clear your cookies it will raise the price each time you visit!) and it can hold it’s own.
If you are looking for art programs I suggest Krita (free) or SAI (Pay only once for it then you have it for life! But it is 50 USD)
For coloring NEVER shade in black/gray/grey unless you are doing monochrome! Shade using pink, blue, purple, brown, orange, or red.
FLIP THE CANVAS! Or better yet open a new view and flip that so you don’t have to keep going back and forward (it’s helpful when doing speedpaints as well)
Software for speed painting Xsplit broadcaster and windows movie maker are your friend!
If you are running into an art block, take a break, look at other artists work/speedpaints (I like looking at Magnta555 and Adam R*sner work cause they are (‐^▽^‐))
